Immortal/Mythical

Immortal/Mythical - All Things Anita

These are other types of beings in the Anita Blake Universe as defined by LKH that can change their form - they have both a human and an animal form.

They are not covered under other shape-shifting categories.

Lamia

Melanie

Lamia are immortal, yet have been listed as extinct for 200 years. Anita discovers that Mr. Oliver has control of one. They are a shapeshifter of a sort. They are half human and half snake. They have long retractable fangs. A bite from a Lamia is deadly anti-coagulant. Once bitten, the wound swells and becomes purple. Internal bleeding follows, blood flows out of every orifice, until the victim dies.

Melanie, the Lamia, was a character in Circus of the Damned.
