Some people have problems with all the sex in the Blake books. Some people do not. My question is: Do you prefur the books before Anita started doing every one, or after? Why?
I myself like all the books. When Anita started doing the nasty with people, I think it brought a lot of good new characters to the books, so over all, they were good after it. I don't think the books would be as good if it never happened.

Hm, things are feeling a little slow here at the Wiki these last couple of days...
Why not start a new topic? Alright. Scenario #1: You're walking down the street of...St. Louis, and all of a sudden Laurell K. Hamilton walks by you, the woman who created this amazing world that we maybe obsess about. What do you do? 1- Go into hysteric? "OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD!!!" 2- Just let her keep walking, she has a life. 3- Whip out your autograph book that you always carry and ask her to sign it. 4- Stalk her all day, then when she figures you out, grill her about the next Anita book. 5- Other, be creative. =] What would you do???

I have just started reading Danse Macabre, and I have gotten to the bit whereshe finds out she is pregent!!! I am in shock, I have read the sleeves of the next books and they don't mention a baby, If she loses the baby I will NOT be happy. Ok yes I know that this is not really a question so not a good start to a thread... but I just had to express my thoughts! Anyway heres hoping I'll get back to you .......

Hey Everyone, I thought I would start a thread with this topic as I have seen a few people ask about this in different threads. I have a book list on my profile, of other vamp books I have read to fill the gaps between Anita Blake books. Thought these would be helpful to others who would like something else to read but not sure where to start. Granted, I'm only on book 4 (Lunatic Cafe), but her character bugs me. My only thought that redeems her has been that "She's 24. She'll grow up soon." Seriously. She pissed me off so bad at the end of the last book when she betrayed J-C to Oliver it's not funny.
Seriously, my big gripe about her character - Want her to stop thinking, or do thing B? Tell her to do the opposite, or give her an order of some sort. Want the world destroyed? Tell her "Don't mash the red button!" I swear, she's worse than a four year old that way, and it irritates the hell out of me. /rant

So let's go back a couple books to DM and pretend for a second that we didn't know if Anita was pregnant or not, and who her kid's dad was.
Who would you want (find most suitable, whatever your reasons! =\ ) to end up as the father. I know, I know, she wasn't pregnant, but pretend people, pretend. My vote's for Nathaniel, and it always will be. Nathaniel groupie through thick and thin. If Nathaniel was out of the picture, despite how freaking UNLIKELY it would be, I'd want Asher. He's had so much crud happen to him throughout his life, maybe having a little ashyy running around would put a smile on his face. Never Richard. Ever, ever, ever. Jean-Claude? What's he gonna do, teach it to run a club? I think not. Jason? Nope, sorry, just not in the cards. Micah? HA! Mr. Vasectomy...how'd he pull that off. But for arguements sake, let's just PRETEND (again) that Micah didn't have a vasectomy, would you want him to be the dad? Food for thought people, food for thought. Who would you vote for, for the baby daddy?

What do you think? Should LKH make ONE book where they're plots come together? Anita series speaks of NO faires whats so ever... but darker things... and Meredith series has no Vamps... but yet... darker things... But, it would be weird and maybe neat if they had teamed up once to fight an out-of-this-portal kinda world thingy... Maybe Anita could help out with Cel and Meredith could help out with Mommie Dearist (Not distory the bad guys... but fight off some of thier most powerful croonies)

Am I the only one out here that likes Richard up till he get's his crazy temper tantrums??? I don't know if it's because I'm a little prude or the fact that he puts Anita in her place half the time. I like him...he's loyal, handsome, smart, dedicated and likes musicals! But he's got his bad side that annoys the hell out of me and makes me want to strangle him and shout that he's messing up!

The reason I'm bringing up this topic is because what draws vampires to make child like vampires? Is it their innocence? In Dance Macabre (while skipping five books to read some of it till I got lost and purchased the missing books) Anita Blake mentions about Valentina using torture and pain as her way of having sex. Are there more child vampires throughout the series? I've read from book 1 (skipped 2 and 3) and on all the way up to Blue Moon. Then skipped to read Dance Macabre! (I'm all over the place but not lost...just when I got to Dance Macabre I stopped in the middle of the book to go read Blue Moon)

Personally, I like Jean-Claude. I think Richard is too whiny. I absolutely loathe him. He makes every meeting with Anita a complete disaster.

I don't know. I just don't...trust the guy that much. I mean you don't really get a lot of information about the guy. Except that he is a vamp who is mob boss. Wierd, much? Btw, what was Bunny's problem in DM. I mean jealousys one thing but please. Leave and act with dignity!!!
